You may have seen the picture of Hogzilla floating around the internet, a monster size hog claimed to have been killed in Georgia.

Well move over Hogzilla, check out this story from Fox News of a wild hog weighing over 1000lbs!!! This hog was killed by an 11 year old boy in Alabama with a HANDGUN. Sounds somewhat suspect to me- a world record hog, killed by a youngster with a .50 caliber pistol?????. Its quite a story and picture for sure!!! We have wild hogs on both of our ranches here in Texas but nothing in this size range. Thank God! A 300lb hog can destroy plenty ground I can’t image what a beast like this can destroy. Bacon tastes GOOD, Pork Chop tastes GOOD.

I won this wine basket from Texas First Bank yesterday while visiting a local merchants exhibit in Texas City (the wine is from a local winery in Santa Fe Texas)  I went to the convention  with a co-worker for about an hour and visited with lots of folks from the oil and banking industries.  I also took advantage of the free food and beer!   All and All, a great hour spent!  Thanks to the ladies at First Texas Bank for the wine!

Buzzards Gotta Eat Too

I found this poor unfortunate doe just outside the gate to our “River” property in Brazos County Texas. She was already gone when I found her (you can tell the buzzards have already started the clean up process). It appears she tried to jump over the top fence and her haunches got caught and when she tried to kick free her back legs hooked underneath a lower wire trapping her. I have seen many deer hit top wires when jumping and even a few caught in the middle of a fence (which I help free) but never have I seen anything like this.
